The analysis of the economic parameters of the Intellectual Sphere in the USA, European countries and Japan, shows that this sector came close to the economic parameters of the Material Sphere. In the Intellectual Sphere, millions of people and billions of US dollars are involved. Is the index for the Intellectual Sphere is absent to this day? The absence of the exchange index in the Intellectual Sphere of the USA and other economically developed countries has a negative effect on everything. It is difficult to talk definitely about the tendencies on the market of informational and entertainment services., Today, it is imperative that we create the stock exchange index for the Intellectual Sphere which would resemble that of the Dow-Jones index. But, for the exchange index of the Intellectual Sphere, I suggest using another logic that differs from that logic used in 1897. Firstly, at creating the stock exchange index (SEI) of the intellectual sphere, I proceed from the fact that the intellectual sphere represents the economic system, the resources of which are moving in economic space. Secondary, indexes should be of two kinds for intellectual values and intellectual services.

It’s been reported that up to 98% of all businesses in America fail. In fact, in a well-circulated Youtube video, “Shift Happens”, it is reported that China and India have more honor students than we have students. In short, the video explained how the Global Economy is shifting the power away from the U.S. How can this problem be solved when the U.S. government spends less than 70 million dollars a year (less than half of what Nintendo spends annually on marketing) on a failing public education system? How can students, parents, and/or aspiring entrepreneurs obtain the tools necessary to conquer this problem? The answer lies within our school systems’ ability to innovate. Lake Highland Preparatory School is accepting this challenge. In January of 2008, seventeen high school students formed a limited liability company to produce the ultimate entrepreneurial handbook- Entrepreneurship: The Bottom Line. This manual/journal captures the real world challenges of entrepreneuralism in a clear, concise and compelling story, presenting how most of these challenges can be overcome. This is a prime example of what entrepreneurialism is all about.

"The author discusses the experience of Georgia following the collapse of the Soviet Union in a broad analytical and empirical framework. He displays a deep knowledge of post-Communist transition and provides an interesting analysis of various sectors of the transitional economy." -Professor Leszek Balcerowicz, President of the National Bank of Poland "Vladimer Papava has written an insightful account of the policy mistakes and successes of the economic transition in Georgia. This highly readable work flags mistakes pushed by outsiders, such as overly complicated regulatory legislation, and the failures of Georgia's own politicians, most notably, allowing a permissive climate for corruption." -Dr. Keith Crane, Senior Economist, RAND Corporation "Drawing on the Georgian experience, Professor Papava explores the transformation of Communist societies into market economies. Particular attention is paid to the problems presented by hopelessly uncompetitive industries (necroeconomy), the difficulty in establishing an effective tax system, and the successes and mistakes of the International Monetary Fund." -Professor Louis Ederington, University of Oklahoma "Necroeconomics presents a deep analysis of the lessons of economic transition in Georgia by a scientist and practitioner with a front-row view of the events. The book also provides a useful overview of economic thought on transition to market. It will prove equally interesting for economists and laypeople." -Dr. Ben Slay, Director, Bratislava Regional Centre, UNDP

Technology has been thought and discussed as one of the pivotal sources of economic growth. As the importance of technology and R& D, as its embodied form, being increased of its importance, a critical concern has been given on how to organize technology development. The concern is not confined to developing countries, but also extends to advanced nations due to a trait of knowledge intensive economies, which require longer and more complex linkages from knowledge to the actual production of goods and services. This book covers the issue of organizing technology development with multinational cases ranging from Korea, Japan to United States and other countries with universally applicable theories that provide possibilities for application in other countries. The other peculiarity of this book is that it presents not only what has happened in its analysis, but also tries to describe possible future trends. Changing contexts of capitalism has increased necessity to organize technology development even for advanced nations as long as they are regarded as knowledge intensive economies. Against the dynamic of longer & more complex linkages from knowledge to production, the answer from the economy & society was to increase R&D to "ride" the dynamic of "intensified" technology requirements.

Globalization has been, in some sense, one of the most widely discussed concept in understanding social, economic, and political aspects of the changing world since the late 20th century on. This book, noting the phenomenon, focuses on two parts. One is to empirically track industry level performance of major selected industrial sectors with an aim to analyze the existence of economic bloc formation. The other focus is more policy oriented one, which is to present exemplars or areas where public & private actors together work on for economic & industrial development. What is lacking in the existing literature has been more empirically founded research that would provide support for their arguments. Furthermore, an empirically based research in itself finds room for its own appeal when it can present a spectrum of different industrial and interests gaining and losing with the advent of economic integration. This book tackles this point. Especially, this book questions whether there has been a common economic dynamic that has driven the economic integration. If there is any common economic dynamic per se that has had major impact on globalization and integration, this book can present how different industrial sectors of different regions are affected, and thereby provide clues to fill the gaps in the existing theories.

This book presents a new approach to explaining the JIT/Lean system. JIT elements are classified into three categories: industrial engineering, Japanese management and Japanese workforce-related characteristics. JIT in Japan is shown as strongly impacted by the surrounding Japanese management setting to which it has borrowed a number of its techniques. Concerning the Japanese management, its features are shown as making up a consistent system. The system is revealed as consisting of management principles or strategies. For the first time, Japanese management is explained from inside, but not from the social and/or cultural point of view. Contrary to established academic management theories, survey findings show that Japanese management and JIT manifest their presence fairly well (i.e. they are prefigured) in the small and mid-size enterprises. Company executives whose companies are competing directly or indirectly against Japanese corporations; consulting firms interested in lean production methods; manufacturing company managers; management researchers, educators; and students make up the different kinds of audience that will profit the most from reading and exploring the book. Besides, it is a valued source of information for anyone interested in management in general, and in intercultural/international management in particular.
