Text for Author Bio:

Norman Santora, PhD is a Medicinal Chemist who has used mathematics in designing biological agents for a major pharmaceutical company. He holds 21 patents and has presented over 20 seminars on the design of drugs.

Text for book description:

The exercises in this Math Fun book were designed to instill in the children a good, healthy feeling for math. By teaching the mathematical basis for playing games and doing puzzles, the author anticipates that the children will have a feeling of power and fun as they defeat their elders and playmates. This experience should give them an appreciation for the source of this power; namely, mathematics! Finally, it is his hope that the beauty of mathematics, its logic and symmetry and pattern will become apparent to the students.

Another goal in this book is to teach children a variety of problem-solving techniques, and to try to convince them to be prepared to look at a problem with an open mind, by taking advantage of isomorphism, for example.

It is my hope that this text, when properly used will be of great benefit to the individual aide or aide intraining in mastering the required skills that would make the individual a good home health aide.

The book has been specially tailored as a teaching tool for home health aides. The book has two sections, the tutorial section one and the practical hands on section two. The second section is a good aide or good training tool for practical demonstartion purposes.

For the purpose of understanding only, a home health aide does not have to be a Certified Nurses Aide. As a result this book can be used to train and prepare an individual to function in the capacity of a home health aide. The agency must prepare a set of standardized tests for the aides to ensure that the individual have fully internalized the reaching and traning that they have been put through.

This book further addresses the rule and regulation (federal and State) that the home health aide must be familiar with.

This book is an excellent tool for the home health aide. I strongly encourage all individual who practice and plans to practice as an aide in the home health field to read this book.

NEUROANDRAGOGY, tells of new advances in brain research. Much of this new research confirms what teachers of adults have been saying for years. A very good example of this is that children and adults do not learn in the same way. The brain of the child does not reach new brain function and true maturity until age 21 and older. This is clearly seen when youths use their emotions to decide and not their executive brain as adults do.

NEUROANDRAGOGY includes research that confirms ways adults can improve their IQ and sharpen their minds even into old age. This is possible because "brain plasticity" still occurs late in life. Even more interesting is the fact that we may even be able to experience neurogenesis (new brain cellgrowth) through life if we continue to learn new things and live within a brain stimulating environment.

NEUROANDRAGOGY also makes the case for a possible delay of Alzheimer's disease by the activity of new learning (music, a new language, a new town etc.) All this contributes to good brain health which improves on life itself.

Between the years 1981-1996, many American colleges experienced a period of decline due to the numbers of available students, economic trends, and national interests. Some of these schools were able to experience significant positive turnaround. At the same time, many institutions of religious higher education continued to decline, some to the point of closure. One Midwestern Christian college experienced a major turnaround. Evidence indicates in addition to turnaround, the school also went through a significant transformation process. This study investigated both the turnaround and transformation of the school as an integrated process. As such, it also serves as an example of an ethnographic case study in higher education.
