A plethora of children’s wit and wisdom as told through their daily lives with a childcare teacher. All are conversations she heard during her eleven years of working in preschool center. T he insight and humor of the children is revealed quite cleverly. The author’s love for children comes through strongly as you read the collection. This is a one of a kind work, very unique and sometimes hilarious. Also contains many craft ideas and helpful hints for preschool teachers and/or parents. Working with children is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. These years have been a very educational experience. If I planted one seed along the way, I feel I have done my part. The title, “Lit’l Bit,” was a nickname from years ago. One day I couldn’t reach something on a shelf, and I said, “I’m not big enough.” My husband replied, “Oh, you’re such a little bit,” and the name stuck.

The creation of a professional therapist and former dancer, Danceplay brings to parents a new and wonderful way for interacting with their very young children--even before verbal exchange has fully begun. Designed for eighteen-month--to four-year-olds--and their mothers and fathers--it is a stimulating approach to fostering a child's social and intellectual growth through creative physical play. The exercises, based on the insights and knowledge of developmental psychologists, progress from simple movements suitable for the eighteen-month-old, to sequences involving complex ideas and actions for the four-year-old. Levell One begins with stretching adn limbering and gradually moves to an exploration of the body and its parts. In Level Two the child learns to distinguish self from environment through a variety of danceplays. And the focus of Level Three is integration, as games, music, and movement develop the ability to percieve a situation as a complex experience. Touching is emphasized throughout, and the fun and sharing add immeasurably to the everyday interaction between parent and child. Charming line drawings illustrate an easy-to-follow text, and necessary equipment is limited to simple household items. It is difficult to imagine an easier, more pleasurable way to help your child develop as he or she grows.

How can I creatively motivate the childe who says, "I hate to read"? How can we cleverly quiet the bouncing young travelers in the back of the family vehicle? How can we instill solid values in impressionable young minds? If you have ever asked these questions, you need to read Creative Parenting. The book contains activities for Fundays (backyard carnivals), Sundays (mystery car rides), Shirk Days (tips for traveling with and without children), Workdays (encouraging learning and making a house livable for children), Feeding Times (production line recipes), and Needing Times (instilling respect for all family members, times of transition). Most children spend eighteen years living at home. Creative Parenting enables you to maximize the quality of this period. The activities suggested offer timeless, basic ideas for exercising children's minds and making family life more rewarding and less stressful for both parents and children. Hopefully they will keep children from writing on the walls and parents from climbing them.

Winning isn't everything. It's becoming more and more evident: Parents and coaches are losing sight of the purpose and value of youth sports programs. Youth sports should be as much about developing social skills, understanding what it takes to become a leader, and learning how to become a young upstanding member of society as it is about kicking, hitting, spiking, or shooting a ball. MODEL Coach is focused on reinstituting the value youth sports has on our children by refining and developing the coach's role. As the first installment in the MODEL Book Series,MODEL Coach helps coaches become well-rounded; and more effective at developing players, creating better leaders, and impacting their community in a positive manner. Success is a result of doing the right things. MODEL Coach is about doing the right things.
