I met a wonderful girl named Jessi when I lived at the Grand Canyon. I don't know how we drifted apart but I think it's like a lot of things in life where you don't know what's going on or why things are happening until it's all over. Now I can look back and see what events led me to the Grand Canyon and what reasons there were that made me want to leave. I sure wish I could go back in time because I would certainly do some things differently.

By Balticbard
My chosen name is Balticbard. I am an artist, writer, and poet. This is my book of poems: Heartsongs. From a very young age, I lived within myself; in a magical world of my own making. I filled my magic world with stories of Edgar Allen Poe, 19th century romantic poetry, Greek myth, horror movies, Arthurian legends, bible stories, sitcoms from the sixties, pre-Raphealite painting, surrealism, Jesus Christ, music from the sixties, and old stories, and legends from the old country that my mother, and grandmother told me as I was growing up. In time I encountered the greatest blessing that my wondrous God has given me; the pagans. It was the pagan source that helped me unlock the door to my world of magic, which I had thought lost to me. I finally found my inner source, and my words of magic came forth in my poetry. So finally I say thanks to my God, and to all my pagan friends for my inspiration. -Balticbard

By C. Brian Silver
Silver writes like a good friend and a concerned parent. Like you, he was deeply affected by September 11 and how our world has changed since that tragic day. He understands that 9/11 will remain the major event for our children's growing years, just as World War II and the Cold War was for our parents and grandparent's lives. He understands that the War on Terrorism has engulfed us in an unconventional war like no other we have ever fought where our enemies seek to harm and terrorize us here at home. This easy-to-read volume discusses how we got into this conflict, the threats to our safety, and provides practical (not apocalyptic) advice on things you can do to protect your family, community, and country. This passionate book's central theme is about raising kids and offers ideas on how to protect your children during these turbulent times. The book is crammed to the gills with realistic, action steps you can take-right now.

By Myra A. Jackson
Devoured Soul touches upon the emotional topic of mental abuse through the eyes of a woman who shares the details of her forced journey to self-discovery. In her riveting memoir, Myra Jackson reveals that she once viewed life so unrealistically and naively that she did not possess the ability to truly see what was in front of her. She describes her life as “trapped in hell,” as she attempted to deal with a co-worker’s irrational behavior, anger, and hostility—a devastating experience that transported her back to a time when her mother took out her anger on her. As she went to work every day, forced to deal with the illogical behavior, she began questioning her own rational thoughts and began realizing the impact on the mind of living in denial. As she began learning to live outside herself, removing her preconceived ideas about the world and the people she dealt with on an everyday basis, Jackson shares what she learned about life’s tragedies and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead for anyone willing to view the world with both eyes open.
