On Monday, September 17, 1860, near Carbonwood, a small mining town located in Northern California, tragedy strikes. Mine worker Silas Jeremiah Baldwin is killed after an unusually bizarre encounter with another individual. Baldwin’s death initiates a series of historical events that will in time allow three modern day high school teenagers to come into possession of two devices. The second device, a gravitational force-based weapon called the extraspatial otivicon, is inconceivably more powerful than any other weapon in the known galaxy. The teenager’s possession of this device is bringing upon them adverse difficulties, even as police officials and military officials are after them. Yet, a greater threat is facing them all. Two enormously powerful, yet opposing alien forces are coming to retrieve this fearsome device. Inadvertently, these teenagers have found themselves caught in the middle of a raging interstellar conflict that has engulfed numerous inhabited worlds and is precipitating the rise of a galactic empire. In a high-suspense story spanning four centuries and involving numerous planetary civilizations; the creation of the galaxy’s most powerful weapon, murderous betrayal and one individual’s insatiable craving for absolute power are the explosive catalysts that is pushing the entire inhabited galaxy toward its deadliest conflict.

Enthusiasm and nerves are running high on board the nuclear-powered Coast Guard cutter Broadsword as the crew prepares for their maiden voyage. Confident that they have prepared and trained for every possible contingency during their deployment, they are eager to get underway. But a new storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico is about to sweep these sailors into truly uncharted waters.

As the winds settle, chaos reigns on the command deck. Instruments are malfunctioning, and the crew struggles to make sense of nonsensical readings. The only explanation seems impossible, but soon it’s one they have no choice but to accept as their new reality.

They have been transported back to the Mid-Cretaceous, a voyage of nearly 92 million years into the planet’s past.

It’s a time of unrecognizable peril and challenge for the crew, where incredible beasts control land, sea, and air. A warm and humid Earth presents a changing landscape of geologic instability, super storms, and shifting continents. Lead by the enigmatic JD Stoner, the ragtag crew races to understand their new situation and find a way home. Survival is far from guaranteed in an environment rife with danger that none of them is equipped to handle.

Can a group of twenty-first-century humans survive long enough to make it back to their own time?

—The Voyager, 2071

Jake McCluskie is back…
last time, he was the Repairman, and he fixed Time and helped flush a demon back to Oblivion. This time, McCluskie is the Redeemer. He must redeem three souls and find Hell’s Codes for the Angel of Death. In order to do that, he has to go to Oblivion—into his enemy’s cage. No wonder the Redeemer always dies.

Satan straightened up in the chair and reached into his coat pocket. “Oh, I almost forgot. As promised, I read your ghost story book.” In his hand he held a hard cover edition of my second book entitled: Limbo, Mississippi: A Ghost Story. The plastic cover book jacket had a library tag.

“You borrowed it?” I asked. “From the library?”

He grinned. “Okay, let’s call it borrowed.”

“Aw, c’mon man, for the love of God, you’re an archangel, would it kill you to break open your wallet and buy a copy?”

“You’re rich enough, McCluskie,” he said, laughing. “Now, for the review.” He made a sour face. “It was okay, nothing special, but okay. A passing grade.” He tapped the book with a finger. “The problem is, your story is better than your writing. Hopefully, one day the writing will catch up.”
“Maybe you’ll like my time travel book better. It’s entitled: Broken Time. It just came out.”

He turned up his nose. “I don’t know, McCluskie. One of your books is enough for me.”

“You should give this one a chance. The grade ten English classes at Rockaway High School will be reading it this semester.”

“Really?” he questioned, his smile beaming. “I can’t believe it. Jacob McCluskie, part of modern literature.” He shook his head, still smiling. “The great ones are turning over in their graves.”

“Thanks for your continued support.”

“Anytime,” he said, laughing…

The nineteenth century is coming to a close when Hans Kasper Ivan Karp makes it his life mission to relieve the world of sex and gender. Knowing that his goal will take several generations to achieve, Karp invents a new, dominant chromosome known as the Z factor. But not all are excited about his theoretical creation, called the umon species. Accused of being a lunatic and unable to defend his theory, Karp is shunned. Years later, his son, Ivan, is born—the product of artificial insemination. No one realizes what is in store for the world.

It is 2009 when Ivan Karp—who has been called an umon by his parents for as long as he can remember—receives a knock at his door. With his father long gone and human mutations becoming more prominent around the world, Ivan invites in a woman with many questions about the umon race. As he retells his story up to present day, Ivan reflects on his inner conflicts about his true gender and shares details of his homosexual relationship with Aaron Moses. But through their conversation, Ivan makes two startling discoveries: Katherine is his daughter, and Aaron has somehow achieved Karp’s dream—findings that suddenly thrust all of them in the midst of an umon revolution.

In this science fiction thriller, three generations involved in the creation of a hermaphroditic human species must come together in an attempt to bring the umons the one thing they have always wanted: freedom.
