Holly's summer holiday before starting high school stinks. Her dad breaks a precious summer vacation promise and is stepping up plans to get remarried. Her mother has started dating again, her bizarre little brother is acting out, and she has no friends.

Worst of all, Holly is fat. Or so she thinks.

Macaroni Monday chronicles the frenzied journey of a fourteen-year-old girl's desperation to harness the one thing in her life she has control over: what goes into, and out of, her mouth. As Holly drifts deeper each day into the secretive world of bulimia, she eventually puts her health in serious jeopardy without anyone at all barely noticing, least of all her divorced parents.

Finally Holly finds a confidant in an unlikely friend. Mrs. Sinclair lives next door and is in her seventies. As she shares her own experiences as a child evacuee out of London during the Second World War, she helps Holly to reclaim her life in the most curious war possible: the war with oneself.

Long ago, an evil wizard sold his soul to the devil in exchange for supreme power. He betrayed and murdered his fellow wizards as he built an army of half-demon, half-animal overlords that marched against the forces of Videnland. The Knights of Videnland rode against this evil, along with the last remaining great wizards of their time. The forces of good exiled the evil wizard to another dimension and were victorious. This campaign became legendary, as did the heroes of that time.

Now, many years later, the war has been all but forgotten. All that remains are the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, the evil wizard that once threatened the land has found a way out of his prison. Renewing his war upon the realm, all that stands in his way are an old wizard and three young warriors who are destined to become legends themselves. The times ahead will determine the fate of each of these young men, who find themselves championing the fight against evil and are thrown in the middle of an epic conflict. Non-stop battle keep the action in high gear, including an amphibious assault on the Elven kingdom, a dragon-led siege on the Dwarven stronghold, and demon gladiators fighting to the death.

"After stopping in mid-step, it took me a few seconds to realize what I was looking at. I then tried to move my legs, but I couldn't move. I couldn't even feel my feet. Finally, after several minutes, the initial fear subsided and I began to step slowly backward until I bumped into the tree trunk. I then quickly turned around and started running back to the barn as fast as I could." Lady Dog lies down, taking in a deep breath.

"Well, I suggest that tomorrow, if we are all brave enough to do it," Mona Cow pauses with a twitch of her ears. "We should all take a walk upstream and see if we can see the Wiblet or at least see what kind of tracks it left."

After Lady Dog sees the Wiblet down by the stream at the foot of the mountain, she rushes home to tell the rest of the farm animals of her discovery. Intrigued by the creature with one large eye on its head and a dozen waving tentacles, the animals are determined to track it to its home.

What follows is an engaging tale of their journey as the animals learn to rely on one another, establishing bonds of trust and love.

As Arnie grew older, his sneer grew larger, and to those in his church, it became almost a historical landmark. It crawled up the right side of his face, exposing his back teeth and causing his right eye to lower, as if he were winking. Families who passed him on the playground or at the shopping mall stood in awe at the sight of it. Parents stared. Children turned away in fright. Often a mother, grabbing her son by the arm, would point to Arnie and say, "See that kid? You are to have nothing to do with him. Do you hear?"

Feeling as though he has a new lease on life, teenager Arnie Shultz is all set to begin another school year-his freshman year of college-preaching at a Catholic school on the California coast. But Arnie's gospel is different from the one Jesus taught-while Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to earth, Arnie brings his own vision to campus.

"It's a bust!" someone cries out...and thus starts a series of adventures for fourteen year old Reason Nelson that takes him into the dark world of drugs and alcohol and serious crime...adventures that force him to walk a tightrope stretched between the police and the underworld.

This is the exciting and heart-tugging story of how Reason and his friends cope with their own world and the adult world. Sometimes funny and sometimes tragic, it tells how they deal with the pressures within themselves and the pressures forced upon them, and how they deal with the attraction and subsequent addition of alcohol and drugs.

Written from personal experiences, it accurately portrays the pre-teen and teenage viewpoint. This is a must reading for anyone that is fourteen, was fourteen or will be fourteen.

Martial arts was one thing that Shawn, a 15-year-old boy from a small California town was good at and he knew it. But, it was his misguided anger from his parent's separation that got him into trouble. When Shawn's Sensei found out that he had been starting fights, he rallied to set Shawn straight giving him two choices, to either quit the arts that he loved so much or to take him and his friend on a quest into the wilderness.

It takes a fight with persistent bullies to encourage Shawn to choose a quest into the heart of the wilderness, a place he has never been before. The deeper they traveled into the shadows of the ancient forest the greater the mystery became. With the help of a spirit guide, he pushes himself beyond his wildest dreams. The solitude only seems to make his imagination come alive as he challenged his mind, body and spirit. Despite all he has learned, felt and seen, he finds that his hardest challenge was yet to come.
