To the Teacher: What this book does is give you a systematic way to organize a mathematics curriculum. This is mathematics across the broad spectrum of curriculum, i.e. the skills and knowledge that students learn from this program can be applied and supported in other content areas. To the Parents: This book is designed to relate to you as a parent/guardian the importance of your involvement in your child's learning in this case, mathematics. To the Audience: What goes on behind the closed classroom door? You are invited to my journey in teaching mathematics to and making a difference in the lives of underachievers. I had to listen to each student and learn from them "how to teach for their learning."

MATHEMATICAL METHODS FOR CHEMISTRY BEGINNERS is designed to provide an understanding of basic mathematics for chemistry beginning students. Only those mathematical topics, which are relevant in general chemistry are selected and presented in a simple format so that students can grasp them quickly and easily without any external help. This book will help the students to hone their problem-solving as well as analytical skills by presenting step-by-step approaches to solving chemical problems. All the mathematical principles, as they apply to chemistry, are presented clearly so that students can see the chemistry through the eyes of the mathematics. Wherever necessary, the mathematical as well chemical concepts are further exemplified by diagrams and graphs. In many instances, problem-solving strategies and short cut methods are described. At the beginning of each chapter a brief introduction is presented. Each example is enclosed with horizontal lines to extricate the confusion arising from the intermingling of examples. At the end of each chapter, questions and surplus problems on each section are provided to challenge the students. At the end of the book, the answers to odd-numbered problems are listed so that students can check their answers for correctness.

Mathematics Illustrated Dictionary is a comprehensive, easy-to-use, one-volume guide to math facts and figures, terms and processes, concepts and systems. Brief biographies (along with portraits) explain the work of famous mathematicians, along with summaries of historical developments from the early Greeks to quantum and superstring theories. Illustrations and examples clarify and expand definitions. There are clear descriptions of mathematical applications in computer science, physics and astronomy, along with commonly used symbols, systems of weights and measures, graphs and references, such as the periodic table. As a basic resource for students, teachers, and the mathematically well-informed, this invaluable dictionary should be part of every reference shelf.

MATHEMATICS / ALGEBRA This book is written for a very broad audience. There are no particular prerequisites for reading this book. We hope students of High Schools, Colleges, and Universities, as well as hobby mathematicians, will like and benefit from this book. The book is rigorous and self-contained. All results are proved (or the proofs are optional exercises) and stated as theorems. Important points are covered by examples and optional exercises. Additionally there are also two sections called “More optional exercises (with answers).” Modern technology uses complex numbers for just about everything. Actually, there is no way one can formulate quantum mechanics without resorting to complex numbers. Leonard Euler (1707-1786) considered it natural to introduce students to complex numbers much earlier than we do today. Even in his elementary algebra textbook he uses complex numbers throughout the book. Nils K. Oeijord is a science writer and a former assistant professor of mathematics at Tromsoe College, Norway. He is the author of The Very Basics of Tensors, and several other books in English and Norwegian. Nils K. Oeijord is the discoverer of the general genetic catastrophe (GGC).
