In The America of My Dreams
, an ordinary citizen shares a collection of personal opinions about the political demise of the United States and offers practical ways people can bring about meaningful change at all levels in our government.
Dom Sgambellone is not a professional politician, but a man who, for the last four decades, has witnessed the steady downfall of what once was a great country where employment was plentiful, integrity was a virtue, and everyone put their country first. Today, he claims, we live in a different America where special interest groups have been chipping away and corrupting our system, buying politicians with cash and lavish perks. While creating an awareness of America’s current problems, Sgambellone provides a compendium of ideas and suggestions on how we can reclaim our country, such as:
The America of My Dreams
- Creating a new political party
- Transforming the Presidential primary system
- Improving the court system and the election of judges
- Regulating certain industries to prevent another economic collapse
provides insight and real ideas for change that will encourage all citizens to become involved and force the kind of transformation that will improve the lives of all Americans.
This is the work of someone who is fed up. Someone who cannot take it anymore. I want my country back. I want to take it away from the claws of special interest and crooked politicians. I want a silent legal revolution that will alter the course and the make up of this country for the next generation and way beyond. The primary objective is to create a new political party, The American People's Party. This new entity must be created at all levels and eventually must be able to succeessfully challenge the Republican Party which has become detached and crooked, and the Democratic Party who seem to want to harm the USA and succumb to foreign pressures. I want to see a new political system in place, one that will not bankrupt the country and one that is flexible, efficient and accountable. I want to change the way the President is elected and avoid political shenanigans. I want to change the states and give them more control over their affairs. I want to reform the responsibility of all mayors and take away the guns from them and make them more accountable. I want a country of laws that everyone respects including all elected politicians. I want the America I dreamt about for some decades now. I want our citizens to be treated as such and not as second class residents. Not everyone must be rich and not everyone must be poor but we all must strive to acheve some level of happiness. Something that get forgotten when one is struggling to make ends meet. I am a simple person with a simple mind and I am invoking a simple system which in my opinion would be a breath of fresh air to most of us.
