My investigation into earlier forms of Christianity—like Gnosticism—supplied many answers in my own spiritual quest, but I believed that the Earth-based Native American beliefs supplied even more. Unfortunately, many of the original “organic” elements of Christianity had been eradicated when first-century Essenes and Gnostic Christian “heretics” (Cathars) were slaughtered and their written works destroyed. It’s interesting that the relatively recent discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library have been publicized much to the chagrin of organized Christian religion. Although English translations are readily available, few Christians have yet to take the time to study them. Perhaps the well-established churches discourage their study because it may upset their apple cart as those “heretical” teachings are based on “Gnosticism” which means to “know God for oneself” and without the need of any “medium” or “mediator.” I often wondered if I was purposefully sent down to this time and this heritage to heal the broken spiritual circle which had occurred throughout the centuries. If so, then oh, God, I needed help!
