This is the first book of 2 which I will subtitle “What if Jesus was born as a Native American?” This book, however, is complete in itself. This is a work of fiction, based on the Author’s personal Visions and Dreams, Native stories, and the Christian Bible. This takes place in a parallel world that I visited in my dreams.

This story is primarily about the courtship of Mary, an Ojibway maiden, by a Portuguese man named Joseph, which results in the birth of a Native Jesus. This takes place in present time (more or less) in a world where the story of Jesus (and the Bible) has been altered through translation and editing and the people can only believe what they are told is the truth by Rome. Rome did not fall, as in our world, and the head of Rome, is an elusive man known only as “the Emperor.” This Rome was visited by “Aliens,” Native Spirits from the Star Sirius who foretold of a prophesy concerning the end of the world.

There are differences in the way the Natives will deal with the Spiritual story of Jesus. One main difference is the “Arrow of Truth. This came from a dream that I had about the same point in time that I wrote a 5 part poem called “This is a Circle.” It was not until about 2 years ago (present time) that a meditation turned Vision Quest, brought it all together, into this story.

What if....Jesus was born as a Native American?

Prelude
Sirius:

A Council had been called by the Elders. Chief Seattle - He of the Talking Stick addressed the Council. "This Circle of 7 in which we will be close to Turtle Island, is about to complete. In this time to come, we will move through the Smoke and the Mist, to be dangerously close together. For a short time, we will almost be as One. "

"It is the Creators wish that we take gifts. These gifts will help the Son of our Creator to complete his Earth Walk. It is our Way, to tell our children of their Tribe, and of the Path taken by the Ancestors that came before. These gifts will help him to walk the Path of Beauty. A Loving Father will always seek to make the Earth Walk, the Journey, easier and Peaceful as possible."

"Ho?" A man called Geronimo, questioned: "I know of the destiny that this child will face. He has walked this Path in another dream-time, and the end was not pleasant."

"True. But it was what the People of his birth were ready to accept. It is not our Way to judge. His message then, and now, and will forever be the same."

Geronimo shrugged. "I do not know if it would have been in my heart to accept another man's decision. I do not know if I could have spoken the words of Forgiveness."

That is why I am asking you to be the one who will carry the Arrow." Chief Seattle replied. "Crazy Horse has already agreed to accompany us, and there will also be a fourth member of our Council - who is late to this meeting.

They were joined soon by the fourth member of the Council. Crazy Horse, quipped: "I guess that you take 'living on Indian time,' Sirious-ly?"

The fourth person simply smiled serenely: "It was my kind that invented the saying."

"By the way," Geronimo asked, knowing well of Crazy Horse’s odd sense of humour: "Does anyone know why there were only three wise men in the white-faces’ story."

Crazy Horse replied: "at that time they could not find more than three wise white-faces on the planet!"

After the two had enjoyed their moment of mirth, Chief Seattle shook his head, disapprovingly. "If I did not know my friend Crazy Horse a bit better, I might be tempted to say that this is an example that, passing into Sprit does not necessarily insure gaining of wisdom. However, I believe it is his way of reminding us, that to the men and women we might encounter, we will seem to be from a dream, but to us, this dream will be very real, and the feelings and memories of our previous visits will become physical again."

"This is a Good thing to remember." The person who had joined their group late, suggested. "It is a good to remember to respect the beliefs of our white Relatives - although we might not agree.” And...,” with a smile, "I also seem to recall that the three wise men of question were not even white faced people."

"When our People met the first White-faces," mused Chief Seattle, "they showed us their sacred book. At first we wondered why someone would need these written directions, when our People have talked daily to the Creator. But then when we learned to read their language, the answer became plain. There in the first pages, was a warning about seeking knowledge that had been written on the pages made from a tree. Our People were able to see that they had not heeded those first words of warning. The words that followed detailed the history that they have been repeating since the beginning of the time that they left the Path of the Heart, in favour of the written word. These words have now been translated by men seeking to hold power by appointing themselves the only source of true knowledge. These so-called "Men-of-God," have denied the true Creator, by pretending to be able to speak for Him."

"There are other warnings, within this book, that might indicate that, despite the attempt of a group of men to control the Spiritual paths of their followers - they could not hide the Truth." The fourth member of the group spoke again.

"Indeed," replied Crazy Horse: "and this might lead to a new interpretation of one of their stories - involving the coming of Four Horse-Men?" He chuckled aloud.

The travelers then grew silent, as the moment of the folding of the blanket of time and space was at hand.

Stephen Laforme is a Status Indian - a member of the Mississaugas of the Credit. He was born in Hagersville Ontario located on the Eastern edge of the New Credit Reserve in Canada. He moved to Toronto to pursue his Dreams in the former lands of his ancestors at the age of 19. WinterHawk is one of his Spirit names – given to Stephen in those Dreams.
